A blog that talks about things I forget to talk about in my videos, and maybe some real-life stuff every now and then. :D

Zomg it feels like forever since I’ve made a blog post. And it has. xD Hopefully I can remember to start updating this more often, we’ll see. Tumblr really isn’t my main means of communication anyways, if I want to tell the world something I’ll do it via YouTube, seeing how I’m approaching 500 subs pretty quickly. :)

My 12 Days of Christmas project is going very well, I have all but Christmas Day recorded which should make getting videos to you guys less stressful! Yes, believe it or not, making videos can be stressful. :P I put a lot of work into my LPs! From editing in video transitions, to music, to captions, etc., there’s a lot of stuff that I’m sure a lot of my viewers don’t even think about. Basically, for every one minute of video I make, fifteen minutes of other stuff has to happen before it’s ready to be viewed. Be that editing, rendering, uploading, or processing.

Some thoughts about Minecraft Beta: a lot of people are criticizing Notch for a lackluster Beta. And for the most part, I’m with them. Usually when a game goes into Beta, it’s chock full of new features and awesomeness. Minecraft just didn’t have that. Server-side inventory? Decaying leaves? A use for eggs? The first two should have been in the game months ago, and throwing eggs can hardly be called a use. Yea, I know, it has a chance to spawn a chicken. Whoop-de-freakin’-do. Like I don’t have enough feathers taking up my inventory space. How about adding a recipe? Check the official Minecraft forums. You can find dozens, probably even a hundred mods that have added recipes to the game. And this is the best way to make use of eggs Notch can come up with? A gooey snowball? Ugh.

As a lot of you probably know, I’ve been having computer problems like crazy lately. It all started when I downloaded and attempted to play CoD: Black Ops, I basically couldn’t play for more than five minutes at a time before it would freeze and/or black screen on me. A couple of times I even got a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), so I copied and pasted the error code into Google. A couple of sources said the error was from corrupted Windows Registry entries, so I decided to reformat.

It worked, and I was finally able to enjoy my new game. However, when I reformatted using my Alien Respawn disc and installed Windows 7, I created a fresh install which deleted all of my drivers. So I had to reformat again, this time choosing the “Upgrade” option which kept all my drivers.

Now that my PC is fine and dandy, YouTube has decided it will only successfully upload a video one out of however many attempts it chooses. I have stopped using Firefox to upload videos since YouTube is naturally coded to work better with Internet Explorer, so hopefully I successfully upload more often. I want to post at least one video per day, instead of three videos per week, but we’ll have to see what YouTube says about that.

Apparently I have to wait til 7am for the game to be unlocked on Steam. Uploading Minecraft randomness, then going to bed.

Ok, so I purchased Black Ops today off of Steam, it is installed and I will be able to play it in 10 minutes. I plan on uploading the first 15 minutes of single player gameplay footage tonight, alongside some random Minecraft footage I have. Adding another game to my YouTube LPs has made me realize, I have a lot of LPs!

So here’s my plan: assuming my internet isn’t so slow that it can’t upload two LPs while I sleep, I plan on doing two every day. Single player Minecraft will be uploaded alongside single player Black Ops, and multiplayer Minecraft will be uploaded alongside Prototype. Or something like that.

I want to do more multiplayer Minecraft videos because frankly, our server is a but underpopulated. We have a dedicated server which can hold 64 people at once, and the most we’ve had is about 15. By doing more multiplayer Minecraft videos, I can tell more of my subs about our server, and hopefully get a good community going. :) Hope to see you there!

Minecraft is frustrating me. Well, Java is frustrating me to be more specific. I worked on an episode today for at least ten minutes and then for no apparent reason, Minecraft crashed. Again. I would have just shrugged it off like I did in Episode 22, but to top it off, none of my worked saved. This never happened before the Halloween update, so clearly something messed up.

Every time my Minecraft crashes, it goes black and I get a message that says “Java Platform SE Binary is not responding” with the option to wait or close the program (Minecraft). I always choose to close the program, because waiting does nothing and forces me to ctrl+alt+del.

I just updated Java this morning, so I’m guessing it’s a compatibility issue with Windows 7 64-bit (it seems 99% of the computer problems I have stem from the lack of 64-bit support). For all of you who are planning on buying a computer in the near future, I would not recommend getting a 64-bit OS.

So I broke my headset last night. While I was attempting to straighten out the cord (it gets twisted and tangled every time I take off my headset), half of it came out of the volume control. Not completely, but enough to make the mic stop working. I’m not terribly disappointed, it was free after all (came with my Alienware desktop) and it wasn’t terribly high quality.

So now I’m going to buy a new one. I was just going to use the mic on my webcam from now on, but after recording to myself and listening to myself about ten times, I determined the loss in audio quality is just to great and my YouTube videos will suffer. I spent about half an hour checking out headsets online, Best Buy seems to have the best variety and I will probably end up getting the Turtle Beach EarForce X11 gaming headset. Be back later!

Hey guys, Tiwuno here. :) So this is my first Tumblr blog post of hopefully many. I’ll be posting blogs daily or semi-daily, depending on how much free time I have in any given day. This is not replacing my YouTube videos, simply supplementing them. Feel free to post any comments, suggestions, questions, and whatever else you can think of here, regarding either this blog or my videos.

Now for a few details regarding the SMP Minecraft server. As many of you probably heard/read/saw, yes the multiplayer is now open. However, Hamachi (a peer to peer networking tool) has a limit of 15 people, which means that’s the most that the server can have at any one point. Since we have about five admins/mods/vips at the moment, we essentially can only let in 10 subscribers at one time.

Needless to say, this is less than satisfactory, so Exodeux and I are going forward with the dedicated server plans. :D How soon the server will be up is unknown at this point, but I can say it will be soon, and when it is up we will be able to have many, many more people on at once! Dedicated servers aren’t cheap however, so if you’d like to help in any monetary way (even a one or two dollars helps) we will be setting up a PayPal to do so.

Tonight’s 1v1 with Exodeux will be up soon, see you guys then!
